Crown Princess returns to Sydney


Crown Princess has returned to our waters after successfully completing her 113-night World Cruise, marking the end of her round-the-world voyage. She sailed 33,500 nautical miles, visiting 42 destinations across 24 countries and 5 continents, and crossed the equator twice.

The 2025/26 summer season officially begins with her arrival, as Crown Princess becomes the first international ship of the season.

The Crown Princess cruise ship has a rich history dating back to 2006 when it was launched by Princess Cruises. Here are some key events:

- Launch and Maiden Voyage: The Crown Princess began its maiden voyage on June 14, 2006, departing from Red Hook, Brooklyn, and sailing to the Caribbean with stops in Grand Turk, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Port Canaveral, Florida.

- Ship Details: The vessel measures 951 feet in length, 113,000 gross tons, and has a capacity for 3,080 guests and 1,200 crew members. It features an "eye of the needle" design and 1,531 cabins, including luxurious suites with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

- Incidents: In July 2006, the ship experienced a listing incident due to human error, resulting in injuries to passengers. In 2012, the ship suffered two separate outbreaks of norovirus, affecting over 100 passengers.

- Itineraries: The Crown Princess has sailed various routes, including the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, and South America. As of 2024, it operates summer cruises to Alaska and will take a 113-day world cruise starting in June 2025 from Sydney, Australia.

- Refurbishments: The ship underwent renovations in 2018 and 2022-2023, enhancing its facilities and amenities.
